ArchPaladin
May the Light shine eternal, and sweep all wrongdoings from this world. The Lightguard's purpose is pure: we fight Evil, and destroy Darkness. My Paladins arrived with the intention of aiding Lady Celestia- yet we're met with baseless accusations as soon as we arrive? We would never collude with pirates! Ah, lower your hackles. I will talk with the priestess, and leave you to handle the malformed Dragon. We must have been framed.
Accusation
The Dragon Priestess has levied a grace accusation against the Lightguard. She posits that we are refusing to return vital records that were written during her time under our Order's auspices, and tipped off a pirate. We would never! There is not a single paladin in our ranks that would betray her trust or work with a criminal! Despite her calm demeanor, I believe Lady Celestia is hysterical with grief over the loss of this dragon egg.
Leadership
Lady Celestia is a well-respected figure in Greenguard, and loved by many members of my order. That's why I felt it was necessary to meet her personally. I am one of the leaders of the Lightguard- and am guided and strengthened by Astero, the Emissary of Light. Only missions approved or given by Astero are given our attention. This prevents wasting resources- as well as the needless loss of life and promise - on unnecessary affairs.
Dragons
I have no great love for Dragons. The most notable are those who spread mayhem and Evil. The rest are too aloof to bother themselves with the troubles of us insects. That Water Dragon you're about to slay…it is a shame a pirate stole it, but recent events lead me to believe that this is a blessing in disguise. Water is becoming as volatile as Darkness. You could be putting a deadly threat to rest early.
Archpaladin
The invading Shadow turned Camlan into its nest, but it was already a den of snakes! Look at what I found! A letter from Lynaria rebuking the High Elves' foul nature, and proof that they were jealous of the Human Kingdom occupying the continent they believed should have been theirs! They even spite the Elemental Planes and Avatars for snubbing Elves in favor of Human Champions. These jealous wretches were made for the Shadows!
Lightguard
The High Elves see themselves as above humans, Dwarves, and even their own cousins. Their scrolls tell of how the first Champions were Elven, lending to the notion that they were the chosen people meant to rule over all of Lore. When human Champions began to emerge, they fell out of power, but always spited Greenguard. These entitled dastards were waiting for an opportunity to invade!
Leadership
The Kingmaker Blade, Clarent. According to the High Elves' recorded history, they forged this blade with the help of the Plane of Light. It was meant for the hands of their Champion, until the title and its powers were inherited by humankind. The Elves pretended to be content with training human Champions, but were grooming them to be loyal servants. With Clarent, they would conquer Greenguard, and Crown the Heir of the High Elves.
Darkness
The late Queen Lynaria once ruled Greenguard alongside King Alteon. She was a Champion of Light who fought tyranny and achieved peace for her people. That letter… Lynaria was always fighting evil. She gave the High Elves a second chance when she discovered their ambitions, just like how she tried to save Sepulchure. Lynaria died because of her mercy. Once someone is lost to the Shadows, there's no saving them.

This way. The door to your right should be safe. I was forced to shelter in Forge Citrinitas while I recovered, which gave me ample time to explore its halls. Its architecture and technology still confused me, but I learned which paths were secure. Then, Astero returned.
Dismissal
I worked up the nerve to confront Emissary Astero about the conduct of the Lightguard, and was summarily dismissed. Astero didn't give the exact order, but the other Paladins decided this meant execution. "Sacrifices must be made!" "You're just trying to make Emissary Astero take the fall for your poor performance in the Sandsea." "Sigrid has finally gone senile." When did the rot set in? Was I truly so blind?
Emissary
When Astero first presented himself to the Lightguard, I thought he was the answer to all my prayers. He would help me make up for all my failures. The idea that he had self-serving intentions never crossed my mind. It took the loss of so many young lives to finally open my eyes. Lady Celeritas… she never spoke to us directly about Astero, but she never denied that he spoke for her benefit either.
Schemes
So it's true. Astero was the one who released the Doom Triad in order to scare Greenguard into turning to the Light for protection. Once he had gold, influence, and… expendable bodies, he set his sights on the Sandsea. When he failed to bring it under his control, Astero sought the Flames of the Magnum Opus Forges. The Lightguard thought he wanted to turn them all into Champions… but he has bigger plans that that. I'm sure of it.

Humans willingly transforming into Doom Spirits, and Doom Spirits wishing to become human. It's still strange and wrong to me… Is Doom actually going to save Tara from the Law? How can we trust it? What if Zigfried is fooling us into facilitating the full conquest of Lore? It wouldn't be the first time I was used.

Awakening the Doom Spirits and using them to stop The Law is dangerous and foolish, but we don't have any other options. Astero devouring them… He has marred the purity of the Light beyond repair. This profane act can't be allowed to continue. If we must collude with Doom, then I will concede for now. After the matter concludes, I will banish those Doom Spirits myself. This is my compromise. I will not be used like a tool again.

Lady Celestia called me here. Speak with her first, I wish for this issue to be smoothed as soon as possible.

May the Light shine eternal and sweep all wrongdoing from this world. The Paladins of the Lightguard stand ready to give their lives! We will protect Battleon and eradicate these Shadows! Be on guard, I don't trust Gravelyn or her Shadowscythe scum. If she tries anything, I will knock her head right off of her shoulders with my mace. Evil should never be reasoned with. She'll take advantage of your weakness and hope.
Lightguard
The Lightguard is an order composed of Paladins and Clerics who serve the righteous Light. Perhaps you've seen us in Doomwood or in Swordhaven. I admit, in the past, our lack of resources has forced us to lean on the aid of independents such as Artix- but no longer. The Plane of Light itself has shown us favor. An Emissary by the name of Astero has given us the magic and means to destroy all darkness!
Leadership
I am the most experienced of the Lightguard, and therefore one of its leaders. Though I work with a committee of other paladins who often have clashing ideologies, I am of the mind that we should dedicate ourselves solely to eradicating all Evil and Darkness. Others prefer a slower approach by liaising at length with other organizations, and the most radical believe that opposing the Shadowscythe is heresy because their Empress is the Champion of Light!
Darkness
Darkness is the root of all Evil. Sir Valen was once a valiant knight that fell to the temptations of the Shadows that lurk in Darkness, and Queen Lynaria thought she could save him. Once you fall to the Shadows, there's no going back. I didn't stop the Queen from chasing after Sir Valen when he became Sepulchure, and it led to her death. I must seek justice for her! That woman…Sepulchure's spawn…someone has to pay.
ArchPaladin
I am Sigrid Sunshield, ArchPaladin of Lightguard. King Alteon invited me to Swordhaven to make a new base for our Order. We're looking for new recruits and other organizations to cooperate with. It's been a long time since I've returned to the Capital, and I'm looking forward to filling this building with new faces. Other leaders have been invited to set up base here as well.
Past
The city is filled with promising warriors, but I remember a Knight that broke all of his chivalrous promises…I once fought alongside Queen Lynaria. She and King Alteon were betrayed by their best friend, Sir Valen Pulchure. He would go on to become Emperor Sepulchure of the Shadowyscythe, and I would fail to destroy him. To make up for that, I will fight the darkness to my last breath.
Order
There are several Orders of Paladins, mine being one of them. We strive to fight the undead and defeat the darkness, but there are those who focus on protecting the innocent, and others who fully serve Lady Celeritas. It depends on which Order you approach. Most of the leaders I know are gathering in Swordhaven to swear loyalty to the former Champion of Light's family.
Light
May the light shine eternal and sweep all wrongdoing from this world. Though the darkness has always threatened the lives of the innocent, the Light has given us the strength to fight back. The last Champion fought in the name of justice, but she has since passed. In her place, the Light Elementals have graciously lent us their aid and magic. My own weapon is imbued with their might, though my body does tire…
Archpaladin
May the Light shine eternal and sweep all…You are well, yes? Relax your shoulders, I've come here on my own behalf to visit the library. The Lightguard as a whole isn't allowed inside Thelima, but an old student of mine assured the guards that I only wanted to read. If you're here, does that mean Tara came with you? Then I'll look for a better time to ask for her attention before I return to Mount Citrinitas.
Tara
She will always be Princess Tara in my eyes. The beloved daughter of my dear friend, Queen Lynaria. Dear Tara didn't get to know her mother as well as Brittany and Victoria did. That illness…Lynaria's slow decline began when she tried to bring Valen back from the dark. I had an opportunity to stop her, but I failed. If I had just brought her back home, Tara would have her family.
Citrinitas
Emissary Astero has tasked the Lightguard with building a base on Mount Citrinitas. This is against Lady Song's wishes, but it seems that she will have to use force to halt construction. That must be why Lord Vaughn is here. I…believe that the Lightguard is needlessly causing conflict with our allies. Though, there is little I can do. My poor performance in the Sandsea has pushed me outside of Emissary Astero's close circle.
Intent
What does the Lightguard want from the Yew Mountain Chain? Weapons. That's what everyone is here for: to forge blades in those miraculous fires. If even our foot soldiers were armed with such legendary works, the Lightguard would be unstoppable. No one would ever fear the Darkness again… if only it were that simple. Emissary Astero wants more, I can sense it, but going against him is the same as spitting on Lady Celeritas.
