To the east, you'll find the cliff where Oblivion and I parted ways. Carnage is making his way there. He must have seen something that motivated him to stay awake. Find him, and fight off the Empty Creatures seeking to fill their husks with your viscera.
Nulgath's loyalists are impressive. When Oblivion was still my student, the others wouldn't even dare call themselves rivals, lest he carve out their insides. I was more proud than concerned. I wonder how Nulgath feels…or if he even can in the first place.

Nulgath brazenly stepped over the edge of that cliff. You wouldn't be able to survive the fall. Not comfortably, at least. Gather the sinew from the bone spires sprouting from the snow. Take care not to stare at them for too long. You'll wake them up.
When Adimonde disposed of our remains, he left them to stare up at the edge of that cliff. Oblivion gazed into the abyss for many years, distraught that nothing was looking back. I wish he had gotten bored and left.

Climb down that rope, and try not to vomit. At the bottom of this pit is a spatial tear that leads to the Fiend God's realm. You'll find all the bones Adimonde picked out of his teeth. Other Hushed, leftovers like me, will attack on sight. Put them out of their misery.
Beating the Hushed with hammers and cutting them with blades can force them to calm for a moment, but they'll never let this go. They used to be powerful, prideful Archfiends like Nulgath, reduced to scraps by their own followers.

You'll feel the bottom of your boots melt the closer you get to the bottom. We'll all flow down there eventually, like water getting sucked into a drain. The number of Empty Creatures and Hushed will be densest there. Get them out of your way.
I imagine you'll eventually run into me, or well, the angrier parts of me. Adimonde's food breaks apart in his stomach. I got lucky, attaching myself to Oblivion's rags. Perhaps I'm the 'mentor' distilled from the rest of an old Archfiend's bitterness.

At the very bottom of this pit, destroy what remains of a Withered Archfiend. Nulgath is nearby. I sense it, and he's waiting to see if you can push his predecessor back into the Fiend's Void. Take care not to fall in yourself. It'll make Adimonde laugh.
This Nulgath is very confident in himself. Ah well, so was I. We were too high and mighty to think that people like you would resent such condescension. Adimonde, with lazy ease, assures that we all fall this way.

You've gazed into the Fiend's Void, and decided to turn your back on it. That's right. Very good. It's time to leave. Head back west, and see if you can relight the Candles. Maybe that Lost Expeditioner can point you the right way.
If you can't light those candles, that means Oblivion is watching. Being an Elemental, he's likely all around us. Haha, I taught Oblivion how to do this, and Nulgath gets to reap the rewards.

The Oblivion Magi are on the move. That means their Master is beginning to feel something other than melancholic nothing. Cut them down, and keep heading west. Don't let their emptiness seep into you.
Cold is an absence of heat, and Darkness is an absence of Light. It gets complicated when magic's involved. Oblivion was always bothered by that detail - that he was an embodiment of nothing. I wonder if other Elementals like him fret over such things.

This is new. Oblivion's influence is pulling the remains of an extinct species out of the black snow. The Ettin have been mutated into Fiends by an Archfiend's power. Raise your weapon, and return them to their graves. Their time is over.
Nulgath has taken a keen interest in this new discovery. The long-dead Ettin, and even the tundra itself, can be mutated into living Fiends just from an Archfiend's presence. His potential was stifled because he lacked a mentor of his own. What will he do from here…

The black snow is rippling, and Oblivion's minions are gathering around us. Slay them where they stand, and continue on your way. If Oblivion wants to stop you, he'll have to get up and do it himself.
When Oblivion was turned into a Fiend, it gave his ethereal Elemental body flesh. My student, if you're out there…remember when you felt your bones grow in. Remember your breath, your scream, and the roar from your new lungs.

Archfiend Oblivion rises out of bitterness, envy, and rage. That's a far cry from emptiness. Haha, Nulgath acknowledged that I exist, and is petitioning me to hand over my student. Defeat Oblivion, and I'll be more than happy to watch him leave.
I was leagues better as a teacher than as a Fiend. That was Adimonde's mistake. Perhaps this was meant to be. Perhaps, I was the first step in destroying this pointless cycle. A real Archfiend can finally dig their teeth into Lore.
