I remember being in the grove outside of Akiba. I wanted to bring a gift of plums to the Empress. I strapped a basket to my back, and picked the nicest ones from the plum trees.

All this had made me so hungry! I had accomplished what I set out to do, so I decided to reward myself with some of the truffles I found nearby.

And then, shuffling through the grass, I saw it! The biggest truffle I'd ever seen! It ran from me, and I tracked it, following its spores.

I had followed that monster truffle right into a pit! I knew it was dangerous for me to stay underground, where all manner of evil spirits reside. But I saw some tracks leading away from where I'd fallen in. If I followed them, I might find my way out!

The tracks led me to what looked like a dead end. But at the end of the tunnel was a pile of rocks, and the tracks stopped dead. Could there have been a cave in? I rammed the rocks with all my strength, and broke free.

I finally made it to the surface! I was just outside of Akiba City. But I was so tired. I had time to take a short nap, and I laid down under a tree. But the Xingzhi wouldn't stop pestering me. I had to smack them away.

Then, under the biggest tree, I saw the biggest acorn I'd ever seen. Its smell, earthy and nutty, was so tempting. As soon as I'd eaten it, my mind started to feel cloudy, and I felt so tired I could hardly stand. I down under the tree and fell asleep.
